It started out as a nice, even somewhat charming message. Well-written, funny, and very flattering. And then all of a sudden, three paragraphs in mind you, he mentions that he realizes "the poly-amorous lifestyle isn't for everyone". WHAT?!? Do people really just drop that into an otherwise amazing first message?
He then proceeded to invite me to dinner.
I immediately went to his profile. He's a scientist who used to be a ballerina (love that). He's a fellow redhead (cute, but not crazy about that). Hmm. What else? OH! He has been married since 2003...
Now, I'm an openminded girl and I'm glad that this guy and his wife have found a way to make their marriage work ("we're much happier in our relationship when we see other people as well.") but wow am I not into that. And it just seems like the universe is laughing at me because I get this message on EXACTLY the same day that I write my profile for this blog. You know, where I talk about how I've decided monogamy might not be the best way to attack dating.
Thanks for listening, Universe, but no thank you. ...jerk!
